I think instructors will need help adapting to the idea of Imagery as a form of storytelling. They may need a rubric considering the perceptive elements of an image, in order to better grade an assignment.

They need to be media literate themselves. Just like language literacy. If they are truly literate then the material will be organically incorporated into the curriculum just as other types of material is.
