Sarah Larson thought she was the luckiest girl in the world when she landed the night cops beat at her hometown newspaper.

That was 1995, and over the next 18 years, she covered every beat imaginable, from city government, to cops, crime and courts, to health and science reporting, first for newspapers, then online.

After moving to Bucks County, Sarah covered county government and congressional politics for Calkins Media daily newspapers, The Intelligencer and the Bucks County Courier Times, then went on to become an enterprise and investigative reporter and weekend editor.

In 2010, she left newspapers for online journalism, building and running Doylestown Patch, Pennsylvania's most successful edition of the local news and community websites launched by AOL.

Before getting into journalism, Sarah spent two years teaching English in Hungary and backpacking through Eastern Europe, where she learned to ask for a beer and the bathroom in seven languages, before returning home to face the specter of student loan repayments. She also operated her own retail arts and crafts business in Quakertown for six years, an experience that gave her a crash course in both the risks and rewards of entrepreneurial endeavor.

In 2013, Sarah made the jump to "the dark side" and today is Vice President of Public Relations for Furia Rubel Communications, where she oversees media outreach and content marketing initiatives for all clients.
