Karl Smith is one of Patch's regional editors in the Philadelphia market, supervising sites across Bucks and Montgomery counties. He spent much of the past decade running phillyBurbs.com for Calkins Media, managing all phases of the interactive business from content to marketing to sales to development.

Before making the leap to digital, Smith worked at seven newspapers in five states in roles ranging from copy editor to managing editor to page designer.

He holds a B.S. in journalism from Bowling Green State University, an M.B.A. in entrepreneurial management from Eastern University, drives a '65 Mustang ragtop, loves coaching youth sports and makes a mean guacamole.
