CAR CRASH

Write a story based on these notes from an interview with Centerville Police Sgt. Wilbur Jansen. Deadline: 40 minutes.

A car crash in Centerville happened at the intersection of Broad and Elm streets at 10:35 p.m. A car heading north on Broad ran a stop light and hit a car heading west on Elm. Car on Broad had four occupants, all teenagers from Centerville High School. Car on Elm was driven by a 73-year-old woman. Police ID her as Gladys Parker of Centerville. Parker was killed instantly when the carload of teenagers broadsided her car in the middle of the intersection. One of the teenagers in the other car, a passenger in the front seat, was also killed. The other three teenagers, all males, were rushed to Centerville Hospital with injuries. Their names weren’t released. The teenager who died was Peter Smith, 17, son of Centerville Mayor John Smith. A number of beer cans were found in the car driven by the teenagers. It’s not clear if the teenagers had been drinking or if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
