(FROM THE LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP POLICE)

5/24/13

OPERATION MEGA (LMTPD) HEROIN ARREST
The Lower Makefield Township Narcotics Unit has arrested SHELTON SNEAD AKA, “MEGA” of 1106 Sweetbriar Road, Morrisville, PA for four (4) controlled buys of heroin from Snead between July 25 and August 15 in Morrisville Borough and Falls Township.  Investigation revealed that Snead was on probation for felony heroin sales at the time of his arrest and that Snead is listed as a member of the BLOODS STREET GANG, “GANGSTA KILLA BLOOD SET,” as identified by the Trenton Police Department in June of 2009.
Two (2) of the four (4) controlled buys from Snead were for mandatory minimum amounts of heroin during which sixty-seven (67) and sixty-four (64) bags were purchased from Snead.  Each of these buys carries a three (3) year sentence due to Snead’s prior felony delivery convictions.  Police outfitted the confidential informant in this case with an audio wire. On the wire, Snead could be heard bragging about the quality of his product.  In all, 178 bags
(3 Bricks) of heroin were recovered from Snead during this investigation. The drugs were purchased with $1,480 pre-recorded buy money.
A sealed search warrant was applied for at the Court of Common Pleas and executed.  The sealed search warrant was served on Snead’s apartment located at 1106 Sweetbriar Road, Morrisville, PA (Wellington Woods Apartments) on August 21 by Lower Makefield Township Narcotics Unit and members of the Bucks County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force.
A loaded .22 caliber pistol was recovered next to a piece of mail addressed to Snead from Mercer County Probation along with $1200 U.S.C., of which $ 300 was matched to the serial numbers of the bills used for the fourth controlled purchase of heroin from Snead.  A digital scale along packaging bags and rubber bands were recovered in Snead’s apartment.  Snead is also facing enhanced penalties for being a convicted felon and being in possession of a firearm. This investigation began after a routine vehicle investigation on July 22, 2012 during which a confidential informant identified Snead by his street name, “Mega.”  The confidential informant advised that Snead was operating in the Oakdale Section of Lower Makefield Township and various locations in Morrisville and Falls Township
Snead was video arraigned by Magisterial District Justice Vislosky (7-1-10) at Bucks County Prison where he was being held on a Probation Violation.  Bail was set for Snead at $750,000 (10 %).  Snead will remain in custody due a detainer issued for him by Bucks County Probation and Parole.

SNEAD PLEAD GUILTY ON APRIL 30, 2013 TO POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DELIVER A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (HEROIN), POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON, CRIMINAL USE OF A COMMUNICATION FACILTY AND POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

SNEAD WAS SENTENCED TO A FOUR (4) TO EIGHT (8) YEAR PRISON
